For this project we created maps which highlighted all water lines and services areas that were potentially vulnerable to increased wildfire risk. Our mapping emphasized that the watershed from which Howell Mountain Water Company received its primary supply of water was at particular risk from extreme risk to wildfire. This assessment proved accurate as the unfortunate 2020 Glass Fire burned through this watershed causing significant damage to water infrastructure and lasting public health concerns.
