In 2024, DP+S worked with the Arvada Soccer Association to provide pre-application guidance on their entitlements process with Jefferson County for the development of a new practice facility. DP+S staff members Ethan Mobley and Raini Ott thoroughly researched potential costs and challenges associated with the Association’s proposed application to rezone their property from agricultural use to a planned development district and those in connection with the eventual change of use and site development. Through this research, DP+S highlighted key requirements and decision points that the Association would face in pursuit of creating their new home.
Although DP+S’s role in the pre-application research phase has concluded, the Association plans to proceed with their rezoning application with the assistance of DP+S staff. This next phase will entail coordination with design professionals in preparing application materials, facilitation of a smooth review process and addressing county and referral agency comments, and representation at a minimum of two public hearings. In addition, DP+S may assist the Association in meeting any post-approval requirements resulting from the rezoning and in their pursuit of final site development.
